What position are you applying for?:
    Moderator

Where would you like to be staff?:
    Forums

    How old are you?:
    15

Do you have a mic and do you use it?:
    Yes, I do.

Do you have any previous Admin experience, if so, where and when?:
Yes, I do have staff experience. I was a Full Admin at Harpoon Gaming before I left. I was only staff at Harpoon and no where else. I do not have any other staff experience, the only time I was on staff with a community was when I was staff on here.

What ideas or skills can you bring to the table?:
I love coming up with different ideas that can improve Harpoon, on things such as servers, forums, and more. When I was staff, I found plugins that can be helpful for All-Trade servers and even the KOTH (King Of The Hill) server and found new possible donator perks/benefits. I have been working on possible future forum sections such as the Code of Conduct and recently the FAQ section. I am now currently working on a "About Us" section which I will share in the future.

I enjoy working on the reports/appeal section. Before I left, I was focusing on the reports section and I was trying to finish off most of them with Joe, Perp, Sargent, and Party. I can help out with the reports, I am still learning and I like getting educated on how to handle reports, how to gather proper evidence, knowing when to accept or decline, and more. I can also help with the forums and the website itself, working on new forum sections and help upgrade some things.

I don't just have to focus on reports/appeals, I can hang around the servers and help find potential staff members, helping newer and recently added staff and other members (regulars, donators, etc.) on how to handle spycrab/heavy box runners, how to properly create a report with the proper evidence being included, help out with future and/or current projects such as rep threads if I can, and more.

I am currently not that interested in administrating the servers, though, I can help cover the servers if i'm really needed. If a problem is happening but no other staff member can get on, I can go on and solve it. So I can act like a backup plan for the servers, just not a full time All-Trade staff member.

I can help users that are having trouble with something, a lot of times I see people asking for help with something and they post on the forums, for example, someone recently had trouble joining one of the trade servers and so he was wanting help and I tried to help. He thought that he was banned when he wasn't actually banned and I told him that.

Why do you think you would be a good staff member?:
I think that I can be a good staff member because I actually enjoy what I do (excluding administrating servers). I like helping out and I like being around the Harpoon Gaming community. When I used to work on the reports section, I was enjoying it and I was happy that I was working with reports. I think that I work better on something if I enjoy it.

I have a lot of time on my hands and so I just use it up on Harpoon. I can basically be on all the time, except when i'm sleeping, activity won't be a problem at all. I go to school 9:00 - 3:15 and when I arrive home, I go straight to my computer (I change my clothes first, eat something, and all that) but yeah, I can be available right after i'm done with school. I finish when I go to sleep. I look at the forums every now and then during school too. This is another reason why I think that I can be a good staff member, activity isn't a problem and I have a lot of time to spend on the community.

Another reason why I think I can be a good staff member is that I can give a lot of ideas like how I mentioned earlier. I work on certain ideas and I take a lot of time on them and make sure it's something that can benefit all of us or at least most of us. Like I said, I am currently working on a "About Us" section, details will be posted in the future.

One other reason why I think I can be a good staff member is that I believe that I have changed and that I have gotten better, being more mature, and doing more good than bad. I have recently been staff here too. I do realize that being previous staff doesn't guarantee that my application will be accepted, but I don't think I was a bad staff member. I know I wasn't perfect or the best, I did have a few problems, but I really do like working hard for something that I love. I will do my best and try my hardest to accomplish what is needed. If i'm working on something, I will put my best effort into it.

Another reason why I think I can be a good staff member is because I am respectful to other members and staff. Whenever I say something rude, it's because I was joking with the person. I make sure the person is okay with certain comments, and I make sure he or she if fine with me joking with them. If I ever do say something that can be disrespectful and/or hurt the person's feelings, I will apologize to them. Please do tell me if it seems like I am being rude at times.

How much time can you spend per-day on the servers/forums?:
During week days, Monday - Friday, I can be on 8 hours. During the weekends, I can be on the whole day unless I have plans. I am available all the time, even when i'm not on my computer. I won't be available when i'm sleeping, of course.

What things do you think the staff, or Harpoon Gaming as a whole, could improve on?:
    • Server staff activity - Certain staff members would be on for a good amount of time each day while some staff would only come around a few times and not spend much time on the servers. I appreciate those who spend a lot of their time with Harpoon each day, this isn't for all staff.
    • Finding a staff member for Prophunt - While I do understand it is hard since no one is currently interested, Prophunt does get players in each day. No complaints or very few complaints about Prophunt come in, though I still think there should be someone taking care of it just in case.
    • Improving the donator section
    • Adding more donator perks for TTT
These are some main things, if I come up with more, I can let one of you guys know or I can possibly post in the suggestions thread.

Why do you want to be a member of the Staff?:
I really enjoyed being staff here when I was before. I'm happy I got the chance to be staff with this community and I would like to become staff again because I really do love helping others. As I said earlier, I really do enjoy working on reports/appeals, I like dealing with these kind of problems. I know how it feels like to be tricked and scammed, I was once scammed too. I was really upset when it happened because I worked hard for my items and just all of a sudden I lose them to someone else. I like taking my time to help victims get what they want.

In the past, I have thought about becoming staff at SteamRep and starting out as a moderator. I have read everything that is needed before I can apply, I am not 18 yet. I will be 18 in 3 years, if SteamRep is still around and Tf2 is still around, I will be more than happy to apply. Me being staff here can educate me on how to handle reports and deal with scammers. This can be like school for me, I get to learn a lot more while helping others.

I have been with this community for quite some time and i'm REALLY grateful for what this community has given me. I have made many friends here, staff members trying hard to help everyone including myself, I have won many events having myself receive many items for free in the past, enjoying different donator perks while being on some cool maps (I personally liked moonbase a lot), and more. Being staff, I can give back to the community. I want the community to stay strong and healthy for a long time. I am wanting to help out a lot, I would really like to volunteer as a staff member.

Any miscellaneous information we should know?:
I have recently talked to Joe, I do realize there are a few problems. One of them being that I might be quick with my actions and resign once again. I resigned more than once, and I am back wanting to be staff again, I am sorry for leaving and coming back all the time. I do agree with Joe, it wouldn't make sense to add someone back if they most likely will leave later on. If i'm added to staff, I promise I won't leave unless I have a legitimate reason and not reasons such as boredom of certain games.

I promise if I have any problem, I will speak to Joe or someone else about it instead of leaving. I really am sorry for doing that, I don't want you guys to think that I didn't care anymore. I really do care, and if there are any other concerns, I can work on certain things and improve myself. Like I said, I have talked to Joe about my concerns, I am willing to work on my problems.

Please, I would like to be added one more time.

  • About Harpoon

Harpoon Gaming is a gaming community, with servers in Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, and more. We were founded on the idea that no matter who you are, you have a home here. Too often we see communities rife with bullies and trolls, and Harpoon was created because we think we can do better than that.
