My name is Punk. On February 19, 2017, I was banned for running from spycrab on the Harpoon Gaming (HG) Team Fortress 2 Server. For those of you that don't know what spycrabbing is, I will briefly explain what it is. Spycrabbing is whenever usually two people agree to a wager, that is essentially gambling. The Spy on TF2 has an animation that makes him do a crab gesture, which is supposed to be rare. Players will bet that they will do the action less/more and the winner will receive all the items wagered. It may come as a surprise, but I'm not 34 years old as my HG profile states. I'm actually 22 at the time of writing this appeal. That means I was 16 years old whenever I wrote my first appeal on February 20, 2017. I have taken the screenshot from my last appeal and reuploaded it for reference. I gave the person that I scammed the items that I owed. The items that were owed were 10 refined metal. I can't express exactly how sorry I am for committing this act. I will never scam, run from spycrab, or commit any sort of mal intentioned act for the rest of my TF2 trading experience if unbanned. I'm not here to play victim, but it's been almost five and a half years since I was able to trade on TF2 without being looked at like a scammer. This is entirely my fault, and I'm taking full responsibility for my actions. I should've just paid Jehnib (the victim of the scam) the refined metal that I owed them instead of running and trying to get away with it. I have since reflected on my actions and I regret them. If you're reading this Jehnib, I apologize for what my younger self did, and I promise to never do this again. Please provide any evidence or information you wish to provide I provided an updated screenshot from my trade history proving that the victim accepted the items that I owed them. If your appeal is granted, what steps would you take to prevent a similar incident in the future If my appeal is granted, I will do the following to prevent a similar incident in the future: If I agree to a bet with a player, I will pay all the items that I owe them in the event of a loss or reason to pay said items to the player. I will ensure I have sufficient funds to pay the player before agreeing to a wager. I'm not sure what else I can do for this situation, I'm open to more suggestions in order to make sure this doesn't happen.
Admittedly, after reading your last appeal, it does make me less inclined to grant this appeal. Throughout that thread, you maintain you never agreed to any terms, and that you were banned for no reason. To the point that you had numerous friends post in the thread, claiming you never agreed to the rules, and it was dumb that you were banned without agreeing to terms. (I recognize you said you didn't request them to post, that said you were warned against it, and it happened again regardless). Did you agree to the terms of the spycrab and then lie in your first appeal?
I apologize for the delayed response, I didn't receive an email saying someone replied to this thread. The short answer is yes. I lied on my first appeal. There is no excuse for lying, and I've matured both mentally and morally exponentially since. To alliterate what I said before, I was 16, young, and dumb. Most importantly, I was scared. I was scared of losing friends that I worked years to make, the backpack that I worked years to increase the value of, and lastly, the thought of never being able to trade on Team Fortress 2 (TF2) saddened me greatly. I would spend hours on end watching TF2 trading YouTube videos. I've spent countless hours that I'll never get back on trading servers. A good chunk of my childhood was spent on TF2. I want to again apologize for not only running from the spycrab, but for lying about not knowing the rules I was agreeing to. I can understand the hesitation behind granting this appeal, but I promise you that I'm not the same person I was in 2016. Thank you for your time and careful consideration.
I would like the ban lifted so that I can possibly get back into trading, and most importantly, get to play TF2 again. I understand a SteamRep ban doesn't make you banned from the game as a whole. But, that's how it feels to me. Again, thank you for your time and careful consideration.
