All-Trade What position are you applying for? Moderator How much time do you have in our servers? 1 day | 17 hours - I try to spend at least 2-4 hours per day on the AT3 server Please list your schedule of when you would be on the servers, include day, time, and timezone As I'm out of work for now due to a broken hand, here are my current schedules: Monday-Sunday | 09:00 to 00:00 (with breaks in between, of course) As I'll be back at work in a couple weeks (probably first/second week of January), my new schedules would be: Monday-Friday | 19:00 to 23:00-00:00 Saturday-Sunday | 09:00 to 23:00-00:00 My timezone is GMT+2 (Switzerland). How old are you? 23 Do you have a mic and do you use it? I do currently own a mic but I rarely (read: never) use it for multiple personal reasons. Tell us why you should be a staff member As for my personality, I believe I'm someone who can keep their calm due to thick skin, which is something I'm fairly sure is sought out after in admin/moderator applicants. I'd also like to think that I can keep a clear head whenever in a stressful situation (not that a lot of stressful situations have a tendency to happen in TF2 servers) which is another quality, I believe, is sought after on admin/moderator applicants. As for my game experience, I've been playing TF2 ever since it went free back in 2011, through multiple accounts (accounts I'm willing to provide should the need arise) and I believe I have enough experience with the game to properly detect hacking software, which is something that most admins I've met (in other communities, at least) cannot do. I have some prior admin experience as I was an admin back on Panda.tf Community for a couple months (at least I think so, I was demoted for lack of activity due to RL issues) so I know how Sourcemod works (most of it). And now, we reach the bad part of this application: I am currently banned on 4 (3, if you don't count FoG) communities for "hacking and toxicity" which, in my opinion, isn't something you typically look for in applicants. But, alas, I cannot control whether communities decide to ban me or not. I'm pretty sure I don't have to say it again, but, I have never hacked on this game nor do I plan to. However, when I was banned for the first time, I was fairly toxic and that community had a right to ban me for that. I ban evaded, insulted the community, all that bad shit because I couldn't understand why they had banned me for hacking. That is in the past however and I'm looking forward to turning a new leaf, hopefully with Harpoon.tf. Lastly, I'm fairly sure that my current playtime on AT3 isn't enough to get accepted and I'll understand if I don't get accepted; this application, should it get declined, will serve as a learning tool for what I should do or not do in the future. Thank you.
Even though this is one of the better-written application that I've seen as of late, I don't think you should be added to the staff pool for various reasons: You do not have a lot of time on Harpoon servers. It seems you're aware of this yourself so I wonder why you did not wait with applying until your total server time is more appropriate. You self-admitted that you're banned for hacking within multiple communities. I suggest you appeal those bans if you believe they are in error. I don't believe you are well-known within the Harpoon community. At the time of this writing you accumulated only little hours in TF2 (less than 100). Your Steam account is very young (Created on 20th October 2018). Good luck with your application!
1. I am aware of this and I made this application, prematurely some might say, so I can gather information on what to do on my next application, should this one be declined. 2. I've tried to appeal every ban, on every community I'm banned from, multiple times (definitely too many times) and they were all declined due to those admins being convinced that I am indeed hacking, despite me providing multiple forms of evidence (handcam footage, PoV demos, recordings of my screen, etc...). 3. Aye, fair enough, I am indeed fairly new here. 4. I have a total of ~900-1000 hours on TF2 through multiple accounts, accounts I'm still willing to provide should any admin/regular member ask for them. 5. Actually on the 21st of October (my birthday, uwu) but I get your point. Thank you for your input.
I have been an admin for several years, in one of the communities where he is banned. He has several bans on Blackwonder.tf, but they originated from an admin who was removed shortly thereafter the original ban. Puddin came back on an alt, which irritated some people. Personally, I do not believe he should have been banned in the first place. The only reason the ban is still at blackwonder is because it would create controversy among some admins if it was removed, and it is easier to lose one player than to cause disruption among the staff. I wouldn't call myself Puddin's "friend", but I have spent some time on trade servers with him, and I believe he is more than competent and trustworthy to mod them. To mod most server modes, tbh P.S. Today was the first time I communicated with Puddin since September. I asked him if he wanted me to post a reply. This was his response because he honestly did not know how I would opine. I did not want anyone to be under the impression that this was upon the applicant's request. To the contrary, he honestly had no idea what my genuine opinion was. Mods, admins and owner if you wish to discuss any of this further, feel free to add me on steam (https://steamcommunity.com/id/jerseyfire380/), message me here or on discord (RainbowRobb#8302). Edit 1: Spelling Edit 2: Clarification on why I posted this
Hello @Puddin', Thank you for applying to be a member of Harpoon's staff. We have at this time decided to decline your application. Although you have been coming on our servers regularly in the time we have seen you on server we have not seen much meaningful interaction between yourself and our community. We would like to see you get to know Harpoon better and to bring your activity back up before considering you for our staff team.
