    Just wondering if anyone can help me,
    I've been trying to start my Steam client today and it doesn't seem to be able to get past the verifying installation message before shutting down completly.

    just had a look at processes to see if it was still running but it seems to close about 1 second after the verify...

    Was just going to, but now my laptop is refusing to take screen shots, just doing a full system scan then I'll get back to you with it.

    Usually it takes a while depending on your connection,if it won't do anything in 5 minutes,delete and reinstall steam.

    Doesn't look like any connection issues, but your more than likely correct about having to re-install Steam.

    I had this before,and unfortunately there was nothing to do about it.An update didn't install properly which messed up the entire client,which requires a reinstall :mad:
