Hello everyone! After the success of last year's Community Secret Santa, Harpoon has decided to host one yet again. We believe this provides a nice way for us to get to know one another better and grow closer together. In case you don't know how a Secret Santa works, you will be given a random name from the pool of people participating and you will have to get that person a gift. You will also receive a gift from someone. We will set a date for the giving of gifts to begin, but this does not mean you must give on that day, if you aren't able to. Now that everyone is on the same page, it is time to go over some rules for this event. Gifts can be either Team Fortress 2 items, items from other games that support trading (CS:GO, for example), or steam games. Do not share the identity of your giftee with anyone, especially not with them. We recommend that the value of your gift falls between 10 refined ($.40 USD/0.35 Euro ) and a key ($1.70 USD/1.50 Euro). We are lowering the recommended value from last year to allow even more people to participate. Gifts MUST be given to your giftee by the 5th of January! Please update your wishlist on Steam by the 16th of December. The faster you update it, the better! Remember to check the forums regularly as we will send out the giftee's through private messages on here. Individuals who are marked, cautioned, or currently banned from Harpoon servers are not eligible for participation in this event. You must give a gift to the person whose name you received. Failure to do so will result in a ban from the entirety of Harpoon. Please make sure that you notify us of what you gave your giftee. This should be done in the PM we sent you about who your giftee is. We reserve the right to disqualify anyone from entering if we deem it necessary. We reserve the right to amend these rules if the need arises. While these are not exact rules, here are some common guidelines we usually follow and some quick notes: Try your best to make gifts personal. It's really easy to go out and buy someone a hat, but it means a lot more to buy a hat and then paint it, re-name it, and re-describe it. Give something that people will remember. After the final deadline, we will do a recap of the event. This is meant to serve as an overview for everyone and to confirm that everyone received gifts from their Secret Santa. If you have any questions or concerns about the Secret Santa, please contact @jacobhd404040, @Nimajin, or myself. When we send out the giftees, we will include more information about the timeline and about a special event we'll be hosting for all the Santas. If you would like to participate, click here! Sign-ups will close at the end of the 14th of December. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! We hope you enjoy the Secret Santa!
