Hello. My name is Andrew "Escalfrio" Needham and two years ago today I made one of the best decisions of my life. I applied to be a moderator on the events server. Once I was considered I was informed I was accepted by Joe and from that day on, I thaught I would only be around full admin level, until a turn of events took place. Around two weeks into mod and chill and Joe gave me a look, a look that was promoting me to events full admin. I was delighted to hear this, but I was so happy the only thing I could say was " OK" over my phones loudspeaker at my dad's. A few months later after hosting events, the 75th Staff games where upon us. Instead of taking part against the likes of Joe, Skipper and more. I decided to help Rami host. A few months later the downfall of the events served approached us, as little to no people where joining for events I took to the all-addicting Counter-Strike:Global offensive. After becoming heavily inactive, I was reminded that with great inactivity comes great removal from staff. I was moved to the All Trade servers from then, not my specialty really, but I apparently managed with it and around a year later around March 2015 I wasn't only managing with it... I was managing it, I was assigned trade server manager. Finding plugins that would be approved by regulars and organising the staff. I just realized that I skipped one of the larger things I've done here. I organised the Staff vs regulars highlander game, one year ago today. I hoped it would be an annual event but it seems not. After the summer of 15 I was in the most important year of school. The year that I would be sitting the exams that I need for university or college or even jobs. So on the 28th of August, I retired from the Dept. CoS rank. Overall if you are thinking of applying (and you meet the requirements) go for it. It may be the best decision you make this year. Hell, I would've gave up on pc gaming and spend £34 a year just to play online. This was my story, I hope you enjoy your time at Harpoon.
As soon as I think I get away from that damn rar thing. God damnit. I've also retired a few months ago...
Damn Escal you were the one of the first admins I ever met on HG I'll sure miss ya! That "annual" Highlander game sure was fun tho! Good luck to you in everything that you do and thanks for everything you've done to make this community great whether I was there for it or not.
I'd like to make sure people know that this is more of a motivational story instead of a "I've retired, make me feel better" story. Saying that you can do more than you think. In my case, I thaught I would only cope with being a full admin.
And then he quit CS:GO to become a professional Bad Rats player and was assassinated due to his poor choice in games.
