Title is pretty self explanatory. I love /some/ of the skins. I hate /most/ of the new maps. I \love\ the Balances. Pretty much,Hacking has also been partially patched, with nospread Dying and pSilent getting broken. Still wasn't enough as private ones exist. Snow plow is Overrated in my opinion and that McVee is taking too much credit. (Seriously,The Winglet makes Better SFMs) Suijin would be better if it was Medieval mode. Borneo was the only map i liked. Neutral on Powerhouse. Derp,What's everyone's else opinion on the Famous/Infamous Gun Mettle Update?
I like the update in general. All of the new balance changes for the weapons have given more a lot more interest in tf2 and I've been playing it a lot more lately. My favourite map out of all the new ones is powerhouse. I really don't like snowplow. I actually agree with Valve now about it being confusing for new peeps. When I first played on it, I got lost a lot and sometimes headed in the complete wrong direction of the objective. There are a lot of unneeded areas and little rooms that make it really easy to get lost if you haven't played before. The skins are meh. I'd still prefer australiums anyday imo. The new way to get ammo and picking up dead players weapons is an interesting mechanic and can make for some interesting competitive play. Like killing a medic who has full uber and getting your medic to pick his medic gun up so you can steal their uber and use it against them.
Me when gun mettle update came out: Me: hawly shet a new update *gets steam giftcard* Me: pls be weps or crap liek that After opening game: skins and maps and .4 worth contract rewards. WAIT WHOAH WHOAH Most contract rewards are 0.4 refined. In the comic, it said that Miss. Pauling paid 100 million dollars for each weapon. Maybe Saxton Hale was right. Maybe she did get robbed... What if Saxton is robbing us all! Down with Mann Co!
As Rami has already said, I like most of the new weapon balances. Having said that, I hate the Dead Ringer rebalance, but I could get used to it. Some of the skins are a bit meh, but a lot of them are sweet as fuck. I LOVE the Carpet Bomber, and if I didn't have that, I could happily settle for The Blasted Bombardier. Not a big fan of the unusual weapons, mostly due to not liking the effects that much. They could have made the scratches on minimal wear and below a little less tacky looking as well, as they do in CS:GO. The maps are okay enough. I love the design of Suijin with its traditional Japanese look, but it is not a very balanced map at all. Too easy to spawn camp. You can snipe from spawn at the enemy spawn. It's too wide and not long enough from spawn to spawn. I like Powerhouse. That is a great map in my opinion. Borneo isn't too bad either. Snowplough is meh. I like the concept of the map, but it is a little convoluted in the map. It's also really unbalanced. I have barely seen BLU win on it, and I have only seen the second stage of it 2 or 3 times. RED nearly always seems to win on the second point. The ammo/weapon swap update. It's interesting. I know I've stolen a dead Medic's uber before. It certainly leads to some interesting situations. On Powerhouse, I've been Pyro on the middle point when I have picked up a Neon Annihilator, killed a Heavy in the water, then picked up my Axtinguisher and carried on like normal. Usually, the standard Pyro set of Degreaser, Flare Gun and Axtinguisher/Postal Pummeler is useless in and near the water, but with the weapon swap ability, you can solve certain situations like this one.
It's okay. The skins could be improved, perhaps making more that are community focused? Taunts are meh. Katoszky Kick can get annoying. Boxtrot is funny. Contracts seem boring. Maps: I like Powerhouse the most. Snowplow is okay, just bad timing on release. I hate Borneo and Suijin.
I hate taunting in general. Not for myself, but I hate it when I trigger a taunt, money-thirsty f2ps come out of nowhere and start to do the taunt. Especially when a medic does it. In prep time, 3/4 of the team is either congaing or kicking. I just look at the medic with disapproval as he continues to taunt, uber charge filled up to 5%. And for something off topic, I think that when you initiate a taunt for someone else, let's say your friend after getting a godlike kill streak together, someone else just comes and high-fives you. Don't you think that might be one of the many assholish moves in tf2? Anyways, I hate it how people try to be friendly in a pub. Get good or go home.
If you do a Katoszky Kick taunt. You better watch out. I'm going to join in and sit there for hours kicking. This is when you kick that medic for being a retard.
