Alrighty here is the list from someone who has done extensive research on this topic. Alrighty well, gonna go ahead and make the headset and external mic combo list! The headphones on this list are all good and the only reason I will list multiple is because headphone choice is up to what type of music you like and what frequency you want fillin those ears of yours! Also, you must decide whether you want closed or open. Open = Sound leaks out and you get real surround and a larger sound stage. Closed = Blocking our room noise, no sound leakage, smaller sound stage, slightly better bass! This first choice is for treble lovers! Superlux 668B Semi-Open Headphones: http://geni.us/1yS1 These are for the mid-bass heads! (I use sennheiser products) Sennheiser HD 429 Open Headphones: http://geni.us/2W0z Sennheiser HD 419 Closed Headphones: http://geni.us/z2e Just for fun if you like to throw your headset across the room these are for you! California Headphone Company Premium Metal & Leather Headphones: http://geni.us/fSX California Headphone Company Metal & Leather Headphones: http://geni.us/31ic Here are some earbuds for good prices while I'm at it! Panasonic Cheap Earbuds: http://geni.us/4Cuz Brainwavz S1 IEM: http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-s1-iem-earphones Ostry KC06: http://geni.us/3bus Now it is time for mics! (Don't get this unless you live on the street) Shitty desktop mic that will do the trick: http://geni.us/sjA (Best Under Budget Option) Zalman Zm-Mic1 Clip on Mic: http://geni.us/38eX Best option (over budget though) - Antlion Modmic 4.0: http://www.modmic.com/ Other options for headphones with detachable cables: http://geni.us/2kyr That is it! I would highly reccomend using the Seperate setup as opposed to the bundle because you tend to get better quality when something is manufactured with 1 goal in mind! I hope this helps! If you insist on using a headset these are the best! These are THE BEST headset for the same price as Logitech G930s! http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-...8&qid=1438833357&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud Sure, they are wired but they out-preform some 150-200$ headsets. GET THESE! If you choose to totally ignore my first suggestion here is a pair that is pretty good aswell! http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-S...eywords=SteelSeries+Siberia+V2+Gaming+Headset These are slightly lower price but are still great! I would still go with the Hyperx's but hey dont take my word for it, not like I've spent over a year researching headsets, ect. (I have) I know people like the Logitechs but I just find they are made to last a month or two before breaking unless you are the most careful person ever. The wireless feature is definitley nice, but you are sacrificing sound and mic quality for the ability to walk around the house a bit. I will make another list. I hope you found this helpful
Hey there, Darko! Thank you for your guide, it is helpful and appreciated. However, I already have a separate good quality mic and I am looking for headphones w/o integrated mic at under $40. Could you please guide my choice within this category?
I have noticed them already, palie, but I must insist on the fact that I cannot currently spend more than $40 (or, more precisely, €40) for new headphones. So perhaps you have some suggestions for cheapos like me?
You're right! With that money, I'm going to play lottery, I'm gonna win and have €1m, I'll then invest in the stock market and turn it into €1bn, with that billion dollars imma be launchin' my political career in the United States, I'll become the first Finnish-American president, and finally I will develop a space conquest policy so I can become Emperor of the Universe! (But I still won't have my headphones.)
Choose a Sennheiser. Won't regret it 94% of the time. Though I personally would save up for the ~$100 range of their headphones & buy a blue snowball or yeti as the microphone. Just my personal preferences.
