So guys as a musician I listen to a lot of music. I have several iPhones/iPods/MP3 players filled with music. Currently I have hit a creative blank in my own music, I listen to too much of the same stuff all the time and now I need moh musics. Now we come to the point of this thread, I need more musics. I have most mainstream stuff that has aired in Australia from the past 30-40 years so keep that in mind. Also I don't listen to dance, dub step, folk or pop music (might as well just suggest rock to me). So gib me dem suggestions plz :3
Well, what do you think of punk? And what do you think of Disney? Okay, what do you think of punk and Disney at the same time?
Also I don't listen to dance, dub step, folk or pop music (might as well just suggest rock to me). That's not a good practice for musician man. As musician you should welcome and listen to all kind of songs and music to get idea and inspirations from them. When you exclude some form of music from your listening collection, you are actually putting a limit for yourself as a musician. That kinda happen to me in the past. I was like "I never listen to stuffs like this, they are trash" and then I found myself awfully wrong as I started to appreciate their beauty.
I agree, we really need to appreciate Wrecking Ball. That song has so much emotion and meaning, it's the most beautiful song I have ever heard.
Mate you are preeching to the wrong choir here. Yes I am a musician and yes it is a stereotype that musicians need to respect every genre and yada yada. But guess what? I'm not your steortypical musician, I don't need to respect every genre and I most deffinatly don't need to listen to anything I don't want to listen to. You can start judging me as a musician when you 1. Understand what music is for me 2. Get some sort of degree in music like myself, or 3. You are some famous group that plays music that I like. This thread was not made for an arguement and was actually made for people to suggest to me music (preferably rock music/jazz). So can peeps start suggesting me music and not argue please.
It's cool man, I don't really meant any offence. As for new music, have you try looking out for songs from overseas? Even though we can't understand their lyrics but maybe there's a thing or two we can learn from their music.
I could literally listen to this song all day, every day, until my ears stop working. I know it's probably not your type but it's my favorite song and it is just a suggestion.
