    Please name your Suggestion/Bug Report:
    Amendment to Rules

Is this a suggestion or bug report?:
    Suggestion

    What does this report affect?:
    HG Forums

    Please elaborate on your suggestion:
    Option 1:
    - If an account's ratings are made up of 75% of negative ratings then they should receive a permanent-ban.
    - If an account's ratings are made up of 65% of negative ratings then they should receive a temporary-ban(1-3 days).

    Option 2:
    - If an account's ratings are made up of 80% of negative ratings then they should receive a permanent-ban.
    - If an account's ratings are made up of 70% of negative ratings then they should receive a temporary-ban(1-3 days).
    - If an account's ratings are made up of 65% of negative ratings then they should receive a temporary-ban(1).

    Option 3:
    - Debate punishment(s) via replies

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think one of these should be adopted and added to the current rule list to add a punishment for posters who wish to continuously post threads or replies just to collect negative ratings. This shouldn't effect anyone who posts and receives negative ratings every once and awhile as they would most likely also receive positive ratings as well.

I'm aware that new accounts who've received a negative rating and no positive ratings(yet) because they posted something someone didn't like would be already be past the threshold. This is counteracted with my previous statement.
As long as it isn't continuous they should be excluded.

    Any Additional Information?:
    Currently the rules are:

Needs a bit of more editing to make it more coherent and to get my point fully across.

No. This would introduce a lot more power to simple ratings, ratings people often hit accidentally on mobile.

In addition, the ratings are meant to be your opinion. If someone is frequently disagreed with, it doesn't mean they should be banned.

Lastly, people could brigade someone they don't like, rate all their posts negatively to get them banned.

If there's an issue with a thread, you can report it using the report system. So far I haven't see threads designed to be negative rating farming.

I find a lot of people fuck up the Count to 1000 thread on purpose just to make others upset. I mean, making a lol is ok, but some people on that thread just want to be annoying.

    1) that thread is made to be hard.
    2) does that really deserve a permaban?

Nah not permanan, just referencing to Ptolemy.

The thread will never be complete because there will always be someone to mess it up. I don't get pissed at the thread, but it's the effort put together wasted.

I don't think (hopefully not) other people will care if we just create a thread of our own where we see how high we can count, and trolls can't mess it up. Call it count to infinity :3

No matter where you post it, trolls can mess it up. The thread is like a count to infinity. It actually started as a count to 100, but they made it, so we made it 1000. It's just meant to be fun.

In any event, since the idea is declined, locked.
