Hello everyone! For quite a while now, Harpoon has hosted a Secret Santa for it's staff members, it provided a way for us to get to know each other better and grow closer together. Last year we decided to include our retired staff in this tradition to spread the joy even further. Now, we are going to include you all! That's right, this year's annual Secret Santa is being opened up for the entire community to enjoy! In case you don't know how a Secret Santa works, you will be given a random name from the pool of people participating and you will have to get that person a gift. You will also receive a gift from someone. We will set a date for the giving out of gifts to begin, but this does not mean you must give on that day, if you aren't able to. Now that everyone is on the same page, it is time to go over some rules for this event. Gifts can be either Team Fortress 2 items, items from other games that support trading (CS:GO, for example) or steam games. Do not share the identity of your giftee with anyone, especially not with them. The gift limit is $20, or roughly 10 keys, but do NOT feel that you have to match this. Not everyone has the same amount of wealth, it's perfectly acceptable to give a gift significantly under the limit as long as your heart is in the right place. Gifts MUST be given to your giftee by the 1st of January! Please update your wishlist on Steam before the 13th of December. The faster you update it, the better! Remember to check the forums regularly as we will send out the giftee's through private messages on here. Individuals who are marked, cautioned or currently banned from Harpoon servers are disqualified. You must give a gift to the person whose name you received. Being a greedy grinch and failing to provide a gift will lead to consequences. Please make sure that you notify us of what you gave your giftee. This should be done in the PM we sent you about who your giftee is. While these are not exact rules, here's some common guidelines we usually follow: Try your best to make gifts personal. It's really easy to go out and buy someone a hat, but it means a lot more to buy a hat and then paint it, re-name it and re-describe it. Give something that people will remember. After the final deadline, we will do a recap of the event. This is meant to serve as an overview for everyone and to confirm that everyone recieved gifts from their secret santa. We reserve the right to disqualify anyone from entering if we deem it necessary. If you have any questions or concerns about the Secret Santa, please contact @jacobhd404040 or myself. We will announce a gift giving day on the 17th of December. We will also be hosting a party for all the participants. If you would like to participate, click here! Sign-ups will close on the 13th of December 2017 at 11PM GMT+1. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! We hope you enjoy the Secret Santa!
